The all new Smithy Cottage website will be live in spring 2014, with new photos and information.
Smithy Cottage stands in a quiet, secluded position within sight of the sea about 350 yards from Nolton Haven beach, a delightful sandy cove in the centre of the spectacular coastal scenery of St Bride's Bay in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
The cottage and just three nearby properties stand in a quiet lane along which many more horses pass than cars! The cottage enjoys tremendous character and there are stunning views from a delightful garden that rises quite steeply to the rear.
Revision - see above:
The cottage is comfortably furnished and centrally heated. There is a through lounge / dining room with open hearth fireplace, recessed window seats and dining table. A delightful kitchen / diner, utility rear porch and ground floor bath / shower room / wc. Upstairs, an additional wc / washroom and two double bedrooms – the second with an additional single bed.
Outside there is adequate parking, a secluded sun trap patio area and gardens that rise steeply (young children need to be supervised) with several seating areas to enjoy splendid views to the beach, cliffs and seascape.
The quiet unspoilt and sheltered hamlet of Nolton Haven lays in the centre of St Brides Bay, itself a principal feature of the glorious Pembrokeshire Coast . The coastal path passes through the village and the location enjoys everything the National Park can offer – walks along either exhilarating cliff tops or quiet welsh lanes, golf, horse riding, fishing, boating trips to outlying islands with tremendously varied coastal flora & fauna, surfing at Newgale's awesome beach and a whole lot more. Nearby villages include picturesque Solva, Little Haven, Broad Haven and the Cathedral City of St Davids.
Local facilities are limited, The Mariners Inn lies adjacent to the beach and The Druidstone Hotel - the ultimate get away from it all hostelry is a short distance along the coast road, or coast path. The nearest shops are either at Roch, a short drive inland or at Newgale, Beach just along the coast. There are a variety of excellent eating places around St Brides Bay and the usual more extensive shopping facilities in Haverfordwest.
The owners of Smithy Cottage have known the area for many years and thoroughly recommend both the Cottage and location as the ideal opportunity for all types of visitor to enjoy the very best of everything the Pembrokeshire Coast can offer – or simply the opportunity to lock yourself away and relax.
